Technical Function Cost Controller

About the job

The Technical Function Controller is the reference controller for his/her area of expertise for any engineering and project topic. He/she is in charge of the definition, deployment and follow-up of management KPIs for his/her respective area. The technical controller challenges actuals and forecasts for his/her area and steers performance actions across ENGIE E&P in coordination with Assets, OBO and other technical controllers. He/she is a key input for the Annual Budgets and re-forecast campaigns.
Main duties & responsibilities

 Provision of project cost control services for operated projects as service provider to Assets
 Implement Cost function procedures and processes
 Compile and maintain project control budgets and manage project AFE
 Maintain project cost models / trackers, record and track all assigned project budgets, commitments, value of work done (VOWD) and forecasts
 Participate in activity progress status updates to ensure project cost forecasts accurately reflect current status
 Review and challenge project costs for minor operated projects and non-operated projects
 Identify and alert on risks / opportunities regarding CAPEX and participate in project risk modelling

 Follow-up and analysis of development CAPEX envelopes to ENGIE E&P management for actuals, budget and forecast
 Provide business controlling support for Gross cost pools of Projects & Engineering Manpower & Overheads across all entities
 Provide analysis, monitoring and follow-up of time writing of Projects & Engineering Function teams across all entities
 Support annual Budget submission for Projects & Engineering
 Key interface between Finance and Projects & Engineering


 Relevant Masters or Bachelor degree
 Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance / cost position within E&P sector, preferably with development project experience. Decommissioning project experience would also be beneficial
 A solid grasp of all financial / cost topics
 An ability to analyse, summarise and meet tight deadlines
 Good communication skills
 An understanding of/familiarity with corporate governance and JV processes
 A good working knowledge of SAP
 Some travel must be expected to other geographical entities within ENGIE E&P
 Excellent knowledge of English language, both written and verbal skills, the Dutch is a plus
