The HSE Advisor provides the necessary HSEQ leadership and drive in support of Asset Management & Operations, promoting the highest HSEQ standards and performance. Working with the Asset team, Operations (on & offshore) and the HSEQ Dept., the role provides the necessary steer and support to ensure the highest HSEQ standards are met; legislation complied with; management systems implemented effectively; performance monitored; and improvement programs identified and implemented.
Main duties & responsibilities
Primary HSEQ focal point for local Asset Management and Operations.
Ensure implementation and compliance of the HSEQ Management systems on the local assets & operations. Identify improvements and liaise with the HSEQ dept. to resolve.
Ensure regulatory requirements are complied with, and issues managed, with respect to the assets, operations, and technical functions.
Ensure industry operational HSE best practices and standards are followed/implemented, in conjunction with the relevant Technical Authorities and Business Process Owners.
Monitor & facilitate management of assets, operations and technical functions’ HSEQ performance, and their HSEQ plans and objectives.
Assist with development & implementation of HSEQ competency management framework and training.
Includes HSEQ culture programs e.g. Safety leadership training and behavioural based safety training programs.
Ensure all incidents & near misses are reported, investigated, remedial action taken and lessons learned.
Ensure that all relevant governance is in full compliance with applicable regulations
Requires relevant higher university degree MSc level
Suitable and relevant HSEQ qualification(s). Relevant supporting technical/industry qualification(s) would be advantageous.
Have a minimum of 10 years related experience in HSEQ roles supporting and managing offshore operations and with HSEQ Management Systems.
Comprehensive understanding, good working knowledge of, and experience in implementing and complying with HSEQ related legislation (on & offshore), corporate, national & international standards, and industry best practices are essential.
Offshore medical and survival/MIST training certificates are necessary.
Strong HSEQ culture.
Is an efficient self-starter with an ability to work alone and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and deliver against deadline.
Exhibits excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
This is the senior level of work and expected to have very deep and broad knowledge applied to solving highly complex issues.
Skills in initiating and managing projects,
Strong analytical and problem-solving (pro-active) ability
Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal skills. Dutch is an advantage.
