This role exists to monitor flow measurement by fiscal metering. The role holder monitors hydrocarbon quantities and qualities, allocates flow measurement, validates that flow metering equipment is calibrated, corrects data parameters for flow measurement systems, and modifies fiscal metering software and hardware, in order to ensure correct flow measurement and compliance with agreements. This needs to be done in compliance with all relevant agreements, applicable legislative requirements, existing procedures and standards, including HSEQ.
Monitor, control and analyse the quantities and quality of hydrocarbon flow. Calculate metering targets, supervise daily operation of the flow measurement system by offshore personnel, in order to guarantee accurate flow measurement, complying with commercial agreements. Make sure that proper documentation is in place at all times and is updated regularly. Run simulations and process simulation work for flow measurement input and process review and improvement.
Fiscal Metering Hardware
Manage calibration of all fiscal metering hardware and validate data parameters for the flow computers in the flow measurement system. Supervise measurement, assessment and modification of metering devices and support offshore Technicians to eliminate errors within flow measurement systems, support flow metering audits, so that the electronic and mechanical components of the fiscal metering systems are fit for purpose, provide accurate data and are operating in a safe manner.
Production Operational support
During normal and outside working hours assist offshore Operational personnel in case malfunction of the hard- and software fiscal metering equipment. Outside normal working hours rotational member of the Out-of-office-hours Operational Support.
Run scripts on metering systems, assess problems, rewrite codes and modify software if needed, so that the software performs the flow measurement efficiently and accurately. Keep abreast of software developments for new measurement methods and share relevant developments with Production Support Supervisor.
Sampling and Analysis
Initiate gas and condensate sampling exercises, select contractors, delegate the work and supervise the offshore process, interpret and analyse results, according to time frame, procedures and rules negotiated in agreements and governmental guidelines. Ensure that contractors are aware of and follow all rules, procedures and sampling requirements. Report findings to Commercial and Operations team in order to determine gas quality for flow measurement and sales allocation purposes.
Provide support regarding technical calculations, such as process simulations, on request of the Projects and Engineering department, in order to enable them to do deliver their objectives.
Support new or upgrading projects with technical advice. Test protocols that are developed by vendors during upgrade projects, in line with systems acceptance testing to verify that equipment and systems are working properly and facilitate smooth handover to operations. Set 'stable' benchmarks when new fields come on-stream.
Collect relevant data and maintain economic models of company assets and provide analyses, in cooperation with the Production Support Supervisor, Reservoir Engineer and Finance, in order to contribute to the decision making on economical feasibility and return on investments.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Comply with HSEQ procedures, rules and regulations and contribute to building awareness among other personnel in- and outside the department, in order to maintain and continuously improve a safe and healthy working environment.
Bachelor degree, Technical Engineering, preferably electrical or chemical engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the E&P industry, preferably with flow measurement
Knowledge of metering hardware and IT systems
